THE STORY—

DEMO CONTENT — This is a fictional story created to preview the publication. The person, project and conversation are illustrative, not a real interview or endorsement.

The starting point was ordinary: a community workshop, a shared spreadsheet and too many messages about who had booked which room. Alex, our fictional builder, wanted a calmer way to coordinate the space.

What did you build? A small booking app with room availability, a short reservation form and one clear place to check upcoming sessions. The first version deliberately left out payments, complex permissions and recurring events.

How did you decide what mattered? The imaginary prototype focused on the moment someone asks whether a room is free. Showing that answer before asking for any other information made the first screen useful on its own.

What changed during testing? Early feedback suggested that confirming a booking mattered as much as creating it. The design added a readable summary and a clear way to correct a mistake before saving.

What would you tell another builder? Start with a problem you can describe in a sentence. Build the smallest complete journey, then watch where someone hesitates. A modest tool can still be worth making.
